Now more than ever, you need to know your rights immediately. PA laws are confusing, stressful, and overwhelming. If you do not have the best lawyer that is trustworthy, tenacious, and willing to make sure you or your child do not become part of a system that believes it knows what is best, CYS will do what they do best, they will turn your life completely upside down fast. Are you willing to take your chances and not hire the best possible legal protection for you or your family?

First Encounter With CYS prior to Hiring Richard. S. Roberts Jr. Esquire

Generally speaking, the first time you may encounter a Children and Youth social worker will be when he/she shows up at your home unannounced. First, be polite to the visitor even if you feel anger or scared to the intrusion into your private life with your family. Remember, anything you say can and will be used later, it may be taken out of context or twisted in ways you didn’t think possible. You have a lot to lose, your children. Don’t fight alone. Hire the best possible legal protection for you and your family. Are you willing to take a chance or trust the government knows best?

Why Richard S. Roberts Jr is dedicated to his clients

Remember, CYS is there to investigate some type of abuse accusation towards a child. That can be a very long, drawn out and expensive ordeal if you do not contact a lawyer immediately that is not only experienced with this type of investigation but knows the laws including if the accusations are abuse and what must the government prove to sustain these accusations.

Richard is committed to defending his clients against a system that needs reform. But that needed reform is years away, for now, you can’t afford to not have a lawyer like Richard S. Roberts Jr who believes the government does not have the right to tell parents or guardians how to raise their own children. Unless there is obvious and proven abuse or neglect, most of the time Children and Youth causes more grief and problems for parents out of misunderstandings, miscommunications, or malicious information used inappropriately. Hire the best possible legal protection for you and your family. Are you willing to take a chance or trust the government is looking out for you and is on your side?

What to do if the CYS caseworker threatens to take your child?

Unless the CYS caseworker or police have a signed court order or warrant that your children are in immediate danger, they do not have the legal authority to remove your children or enter your home. Having a prepared and dedicated lawyer that already knows how CYS will attempt to manipulate scared, stressed, and tired parents especially those caught off guard by a CYS social worker, is vitally important. Many parents regretfully believe they can handle any situation just to avoid spending money or getting CYS out of their lives faster for the moment. CYS will be back. It’s all they are paid to do. It is a 1.4 billion dollar a year government funded program without any oversight to make sure all of the CYS employees are honest, good intended, and putting children first workers. It is unfair and a costly experience when a parent must hire legal counsel to protect their loved ones. Unfortunately, during these times it is necessary. If you are on the fence or thinking about going at it alone ask yourself, are you willing to take a chance or trust the government is looking out for you ans your children? Who is best to look out for and fight for your children, the government or an attorney who really has your back?

Parents are stressed and facing daily challenges with their children. Children have been asked to learn in different and stressful ways. Lives have been transformed from virtual working and learning to not even seeing their friends regularly, maybe experienced a loss of a friend or family member. The past stressors added with these new ones will have its consequences on our physical and mental health. It’s human nature. No matter what life hands you, should you find yourself faced with a Children and Youth investigation whether it is from a false accusation or from a child custody case it can be devastating.

Richard S. Roberts Jr is dedicated to keeping children safe, happy, and with their families. You can rest knowing his expertise in the courtroom, firm understanding of the PA laws and determination to win for his clients and his determination to keep families together is what you are getting when you hire this attorney.

  • What happens after a conviction?
  • When should I hire an appellate attorney?
  • Do I have the right to appeal?
  • What can I appeal?
  • When can I appeal?
  • Where do I appeal?
  • Can I wait to serve my sentence?

These are common questions whether it is a conviction after a state or federal case. The attorneys at Giaramita Law Offices are experienced in both Pennsylvania and Federal appeals. Call us today and get the information and representation you need to not lose your opportunity.

Should I hire an appellate attorney?

You should hire an appellate attorney as soon after your conviction as possible, and certainly before sentencing. This is important because your new attorney needs time to learn the case, obtain transcripts, and get to know you and ins and outs of your case along with potential appellate issues before filing a post-sentence motion.

If you hire an appellate attorney later their ability to investigate is limited and they may fail to raise and preserve all your appellate claims. Failure to preserve those claims means you lose them forever.

Hire an appellate attorney early. The earlier they are involved, the better chances for a successful appeal.

What should you do right now?
